1st hour Mr.O'Donnell
In this weeks photo assignment I chose to focus on architecture. I chose this because I wanted to work on showing different elements of composition, like texture and rule of thirds. Also I want to work with aperture and depth of field on a building.

In this assignment I chose to take pictures of animals because the photos I found for inspiration helped me take these pictures. F5.0 aperture 1/60 shutter speed 800 Iso I learned how to use flash on a camera in a dark setting. The flash helped very much in these photos. It made the outcome of the photos very good and made this assignment go very well.
In my photo 1 assignment, I will be showing pictures of animals. I chose animals because I want to show how moods like joy and happiness have an impact on a picture. Also I want to work with shutter speed on slowing the image down.
ColorThis picture I captured represents color. It represents color because there is two different colors in their which one do not over distract the person from the little flower but also adds vibrancy. The vibrant yellow flower is the main point in this picture with the wet green leaves in the back, the dull green gives the yellow flower more vibrancy. LinesThis picture uses the lines feature in composition. The lines of this brick wall point to my main subject, which in case is Josh. The main light splits the top and and bottom of Josh's head just perfectly to not have a this picture being to high or to low. SymmetryIn this photo symmetry is being shown. In the banners they are both same color on each side which makes this an easy photo for symmetry. Also the brick pillars being perfectly across from each other all the way down the hall shows symmetry. TextureThis picture shows texture. It shows texture because the texture of the rock is easily shown. It is easily shown bc of the time I took it at, this wasn't necessarily a golden hour but was a good time to take a photo because there was enough sunlight to bounce off this rock to capture its texture. PatternThis image shows pattern. The repetition of the tiles in this photo is great for pattern, because it shows the pattern of the black tiles are the same as well all the other tiles. The colors are not perfectly the same but are very close to the same color. Rule of ThirdsPerspectiveThe view of this picture take is called a perspective view. A perspective view is a picture taken from above or below the object. This view is taken from above the object which is the water bottle. This also helps emphasize the shape of the object. FramingBalanceThe balance of this picture between the blue cushions and the yellow pillow leave this image balanced. The yellow pillow is just enough to keep your attention while the blue cushions of the couch. The pillow doesn't leave the picture looking to heavy of the color blue. SpaceReflectionIn my composition assignment, I learned how to take 11 different styles of photos, These are pattern, framing, perspective, etc. I also learned how to use a camera and change the settings to make a photo look better. Also I learned how pictures can tell a story.
Hello, my name is Brett. This is my blog, in this blog you will be seeing my work from digital photography 1. My hobbies are hunting, football, fishing, and snowmobiling. I took this class because I wanted to learn how a camera works.
Shutter Speed1/201/301/501/100In these series of pictures, I'm trying to show shutter speed. In picture 1 you can see how Monty is very blurred, that is because he is running, the shutter speed is set to a slower speed which conveys his motion. In the last picture you can see he is stopped, this is because the shutter speed is much faster and freezes his motion. ApertureF2.8F3.5F5F8These photos are to show how aperture effects the depth of field. In the first photo of F2.8 the background is very blurry because more light is exposed to the camera. In the last photo with the aperture of F8 the background is much clearer because less light is exposed which gives the photo more depth. End of Assignment Questions 1. A fast shutter speed freezes an object in an image also restricts time of light allowed to hit the sensor.
2. Slow shutter speed causes the image to expose more light to the sensor and blurs the image. 3. A large aperture gives an image less depth of field and allows more light to hit the sensor. 4.A small aperture causes the photo to restrict light to the sensor and gives the image more depth of field. |
